Meet Rachel Tredwell, the owner of Tredwell Travel
Hi, I am Rachel Tredwell, the person behind the brand, Tredwell Travel. I thought it might be a good idea to share some information about me, so you can get to know me better.
I am a Mum to 4 young men, ranging between 23 and soon to be 18. I am married to Anthony, and we live in a village just outside Oxford. We have a Cavapoo called Lola and a cat called Billie (long story, but we thought she was male when we first got her).
I am half Spanish and believe my love for travel stems from long drives through France to see my grandparents in Madrid every year. I love languages and studied French, Spanish, German and Italian at school and went on to do French, Spanish and Business Studies at university. I lived in Paris for 4 years during my 20’s and travelled with my job. When I came back to the UK, I decided to train as a nurse. It was a standing joke that I spent all my time off travelling, and I won the award for the most travelled student!
I believe my husband and I have instilled the same love of travel and curiosity about the world in our boys. I am a firm believer that travel is a great teacher. I think experiencing different countries and exposing people to different cultures helps nurture tolerance and understanding.
About Tredwell Travel
I started my business, Tredwell Travel in 2019, and all my friends and family said it was something I should have done years ago. My focus has now turned to sustainable travel – we partner with several Mossy Earth rewilding projects. I feel we need to protect the world for future generations. What we have is so precious I want to play a part in protecting it and helping clients make informed choices.
My Favourite Type of Holiday
My favourite type of holiday is a safari. I particularly love Zambia because it is so wild and authentic. My favourite animal is a leopard, and Zambia is a great place to see them. If you want to get away from everything and feel at one with nature, I would highly recommend it. Tredwell Travel offers some incredible safari trips to see animals up close – check out our Africa trips.
Hopefully, that has given you a bit of an insight into me and the reasons I do what I do.
I would love to help you plan your next adventure, so please do get in touch and let’s start creating those all important memories.
